Michael Strahan is one of the most infectious, lovable personalities on TV and now he’s sharing his tips on how you can ‘Wake Up Happy’ just like him.  In his new book, he talks about the challenges and struggles he’s faced in his own life and gives insights on how you can transform yours.  Each chapter of the book is a Strahan Rule. While we won’t give away all of the rules because we want you to go buy this amazing book and see for yourself, we want to list a few of our favorites:

Rule #1:  Help can-and will-come from the most unexpected places. Be open to everything around you.

Rule #3:  Grit, desire, and discipline are free and the only equipment you need to start just about any endeavor you’ll set out to do.

Rule #18:  Navigate your life as if it were a Ferrari.  The more you process your observations, your opportunities, and  your failures-and the more you take time to adjust-the smoother your ride will be.

Throughout the book you’ll learn many surprising things about Strahan, like how he was overweight as a kid and his brothers called him Bob for “Booty on Back,” but he found inspiration in an unexpected workout partner, Jane Fonda. It’s hard to imagine a man who was 6’5″ 255 lbs, played 15 seasons in the NFL as a defensive end with the New York Giants, was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame, a 2nd round draft pick, and a college All-American at Texas Southern ever sweating it out to a Jane Fonda video, but he credits her for first turning his workout regime around.  See Strahan Rule #1.

You’ll discover more about the influential people in Strahan’s life, like his mother and father. One piece of advice he received from his mother Louise was “Don’t ask anybody to give you anything, just ask them to give you an opportunity.  You can be anything you want to be, just know you’re going to have to work for it.”

And boy has he worked for it. He has hit the trifecta of sports, entertainment and fashion. Beyond being one of football’s greatests, he now is a football analyst for Fox NFL Sunday, co-host on “Live! with Kelly and Michael” a “Good Morning America” contributor, sexy stripper Augustus in Magic Mike XXL, star and producer of the sitcom “Brother”, host on “Pros vs. Joes,” and has many new projects emerging with SMAC Entertainment, his entertainment, management, branding and production company. He’s also the creator of his own fashion line, Collection by Michael Strahan.

We love a man in a great suit, but admittedly, we’ll always find Strahan’s signature gap-toothed smile his best accessory. He makes other people smile with his energy and joy and he’s inspiring decades of men, women and children to stop with the self doubt and be their best.  Being that music is an important part of his life, he makes us think about a song about another athlete named Michael. You might remember this one. We just want to change the lyric to “Michael” because we know, you do not call Michael Strahan, “Mike.”

Sometimes I dream, that he is me, got to see that’s how I dream to be, I dream I move, I dream I groove, like Michael, if I could be like Michael, I wanna be like Michael, like Michael, if I could be like Michael
